Louder..

Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, where it lives, and how to get rid of it.

Version 2026-08-06. Written to describe what Louder actually does today, not what it might do later.

Louder is operated by LOUDERADIO PTY LTD (ACN 701 085 967, ABN 82 701 085 967), Melbourne, Australia. This policy explains how we handle personal information, consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

You can use Louder without an account. Browsing the map collects no personal information about you at all. Everything below applies once you sign up, or if you choose to share your location.

1. What we collect

When you create an account

When you use the app

If you claim a band or venue

If you become a member

Payments are handled by Stripe. Louder never receives or stores your card details. We keep your Stripe customer reference, whether the membership is active, and when the period ends.

2. Why we collect it

InformationWhy
Email addressTo sign you in, confirm your address, and contact you about your account
Date of birthOnly to enforce advertising age limits
LocationOnly to show gigs near you, while the app is open
Uploads and rights answersTo run your page and to know what we may lawfully play
Venue claim detailsTo verify you are authorised, so somebody else cannot take your listing
Ad interactionsTo report honest numbers to advertisers

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. An advertiser is told how many people heard and liked a spot, never who they were.

3. Public information

Some things are public by design: an artist or venue page you claim, its photograph, biography, gig listings, and any music you allow us to play. Your email address, date of birth, location and notification settings are never public.

4. Who else handles it

We use a small number of providers, each doing one job:

ProviderWhat forWhere
SupabaseDatabase, accounts, file storageSydney, Australia
CloudflareServing the site and appGlobal network
Zoho MailSending account emailsAustralia
StripeMembership paymentsAustralia and United States
OpenFreeMapMap imageryGlobal. It receives requests for map tiles as you pan, but no account information

Your account data is stored in Australia, in Supabase's Sydney region. Some providers above operate globally, so information may be handled overseas in the course of delivering the service.

5. How long we keep it

6. Your rights

You can ask us to:

Email louderhq@loudermap.online and we will respond within thirty days. There is no charge.

7. Children

Louder is not for children. You must be at least 16 to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger, and if we learn that we have, we delete it and close the account. If you believe a child has an account, tell us.

8. Security

Access to your data is controlled at the database level rather than only in the app, so the rules apply however a request arrives. Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and are never visible to us. Uploaded audio is stored privately and served only through short-lived links to people entitled to hear it.

No system is perfect. If a breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

9. Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email louderhq@loudermap.online. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

10. Changes

If we change this policy materially we will email account holders before it takes effect. The version and date are at the top of this page.
